I’m Caroline. I’m a documentary style Liverpool wedding photographer, and I’ve been doing this for about 7 years. I started taking photos of my kids when they were little and sharing them on Facebook, and it kind of just went from there. My approach is all about letting the day unfold naturally, without making couples feel like they’re in the spotlight or having to stand on ceremony. Weddings already have so much happening that they don’t need a photographer intervening with the little things. I do provide gentle direction for portraits, but the main focus of the day is the wedding as a whole.

Usually the couples that book me don’t want to spend hours posing for photos. They want to be in their wedding, with their mates, enjoying every second of it, and they want that experience documented without too much direction.

A core belief of mine is that your wedding is not my content. I don’t chase trends or only share gorgeous white couples from fake weddings. I know that social media will escalate certain kinds of content, but that’s not what I’m chasing. My priority is making sure you have the wedding you want, and you get a gallery that makes you happy. I want your photos to transport you back to your wedding day, every time you look at them. I want you to share them with your relatives and friends, decades in the future, and tell stories about the photos you’re looking at. Your wedding photos are forever, not for the algorithm.

I set my business up 10 years ago, but for a long time I focussed on family photoshoots. A couple of years in, a friend asked me to photograph her small wedding ceremony and I’ve never looked back!

I love working in the wedding industry because I meet so many different people, doing jobs I never knew existed, living in places I’ve never even visited. I get to step into their world for a brief time and photograph one of their best days. It’s full of love and good vibes!

I’m excited to see how different the Wedding Night Market could be for this industry, and to make some new connections with Liverpool-based wedding suppliers. And of course, I’m excited to meet couples looking for their ideal wedding photographer!

I adore Sefton Palm House for being beautiful in all weather. It’s warm on cold days, and is an amazing backdrop for just about any theme or colour palette you can throw at it. The light makes it a joy to work in, and it’s so spacious. It really is a perfect, quirky venue.
